Utopian Book Collective

Come along, join the dissection, cogitation, exuberation, confusion and libation!

The Utopian Book Collective meets on the first Monday of the month at 7pm at the Watershed Cafe Bar, Bristol to discuss a pre-chosen utopian or dystopian text. A new and exciting discussion ensues over a drink or two, then at the end of the meeting we choose the next month’s wee bit of utopian or dystopian literature. We don’t have a hierarchical structure and decisions over the next book are usually done through discussion and scanning the internet.

For details of what we’re currently reading see Upcoming Events or join us on Meetup. We also have regular film night socials (also on a utopian/dystopian theme) between book group meetings. All are welcome so if this utopia stuff is of any interest to you please get in touch or come along to a meeting.

This awesome poster for the Utopian Book Collective, based on the frontispiece to Thomas More’s Utopia, features various Bristol landmarks. Play the game of spotting them all! It was designed and illustrated by group member Nick Soucek.

Note we have changed location! So catch us at Watershed Cafe Bar instead.
